UMAI
By Alex Abramov
In the heart of Jaffa, just steps from the sea, lies the UMAI culinary space, an intimate and magical place led by chef Alex Abramov.
UMAI (meaning "delicious" or "talented" in Japanese slang) offers an exceptional hospitality experience, serving a delicate and precise fusion of traditional Japanese cuisine with modern, contemporary, and local cuisine.
Chef Abramov returned to Israel after years of living in Japan and other culinary hotspots throughout Asia, during which she established Japanese restaurants, built menus, and specialized in advanced techniques, including Japanese Wagyu butchering.
The space was designed inspired by Japanese culture, offering a warm, calm, and meticulous atmosphere.
It is located near the Park Madron promenade and the beaches of the old port city, and is designed to host up to 22 diners in three main experiences:
Arabic Kaiseki
Arab Izakaya
Private events
